Strines station is on the Hope Valley Line and is a gateway station for all thing outdoors, gving access to; the Midshires Way & the Goyt Way.
If you alight there you can walk to the Roman Lakes, or you can take some lovely circular walks up the hill, towards Mellor & beyond with great views of Kinder & Manchester.
You can head off in the other direction, towards the canal. You can even walk into the Peak District from Strines.
