South East Manchester
Community Rail Partnership
We represent and support all of the communities touched by our stations

About us

South East Manchester Community Rail Partnership is a volunteer-led organisation accredited by the Department for Transport and hosted by Stockport Council.

We work in partnership with train operators, local authorities, town and parish councils and station volunteers who adopt stations along the line. Our main train operator and funder is Northern Trains alongside our other partner train operators Avanti West Coast, Transpennine Express and Crosscountry Trains. We also work closely with Network Rail and Transport for Greater Manchester, as well as our member body, the Community Rail Network.

We work in a variety of ways to connect communities and their railways through the delivery of the Community Rail Development Strategy.

From bustling cities to rural beauty spots, to laze over lunch or hike the trails, the South East Manchester lines provide transport to top days out, no matter your interests.

Walks

With our collection of rail walks, you can find accessible routes or long distance trails, whether you need an urban wellbeing stroll or want to clock up some miles on the Middlewood Way.
