RMT Union Strike Action
The RMT Union has announced strike action for Avanti West Coast Train Managers on 22 October and 6 November.
On these dates, customers should expect our timetable and operating hours to be reduced significantly, and note that services that do run are expected to be busy. We strongly advise you to check your entire journey before you travel, both once the strike timetable is confirmed and on the day itself. We will announce revised timetables as soon as possible.
Customers who booked tickets for travel on 22 October or 6 November before the strikes were announced (7 October) can claim a full, fee-free refund from their point of purchase.
Alternatively, customers with prebooked tickets dated 22 October can use their ticket anytime between now and 24 October. Any customers with prebooked tickets dated 6 November can use these anytime from now until 8 November.
To minimise the number of people disrupted while our revised timetables are finalised, we suspend sales of tickets for strike dates. Once each day’s timetable is confirmed and we know which trains are running, our range of Advance and flexible fares will be back on sale.
Customers should continue to check our website for updates. We’re disappointed with this industrial action and we are sorry for the inconvenience it will cause. The RMT Union has also announced strike action for Network Rail on 3, 5 and 7 November.
We’re looking at how this will impact services and will update you further once we have
more information.
